Ashwini Thorat, Design Architect at Bangalore International Airport Limited, India (BIAL) is responsible for spearheading the design architects team at the airport and steering the terminal expansion plans.
She has been with this green field project from the inception stage. She joined BIAL in Jan 2006 as Architect. One of the strong pillars of the design and planning team, she has been working on the project for 6+ years. She has close to 13 years of rich experience in design and planning of various campuses. Prior to taking over this role she was working with JTC – Jurong Town Corporation, Singapore. She has Bachelors Degree in Architecture, Pune University and has been university ranker. Subsequently she has done specialization in Airport Planning with Singapore Aviation University.
She has been a recipient of the Young Women Architect, from India Institute of Architects, Pune chapter for her contribution & efforts at BIAL.
Amongst one of the few women architects in India who specialize in Airport planning. She was featured in one of the famous print articles “Women with Wings” in Times of India one of the leading circulation paper in world.
