General Manager (projects & Engineering Services) – Overall incharge of Engineering Department for KAA. Responsible for planning, budgeting and implementation of projects and maintenance programmes for the authority infrastructure and facilities to meet long and short term objectives.
JAN 1993 TO APRIL 2010
In Employment with Kenya Airports Authority as Projects Manager. Responsible for managing donor funded projects and coordination activities under the consultancy and construction contracts to meet project implementation targets.
Served as Deputy Project Technical Team (PTT) Leader of the Kenya Airports Authority Component of total value US$ 200 million funded by the World Bank and the Authority covering projects for four major airports in Kenya.
Projects handed as Projects Manager include:
I. Construction of new passenger terminal building of floor area 21,000 sq meters and a multistorage car park of floor area 60,000 sq meters. Currently ongoing.
II. Upgrading of Kisumu Airport into International status which include reconstruction of the runway and upgrading from 2000 meters to 3000 meters, construction of new taxiways, apron and terminal building of floor area 5000 sq meters. Construction period September, 2008 to August, 2011.
III. Extension of terminal unit for apron and linking taxiways at JKIA of total pavement area 350,000 sq meters. Construction period October, 2006 to April, 2008.
IV. As Resident Engineer for the Fencing project of contract value US$1.6million aimed at enhancing security at the JKIA airport. Construction period April, 2004 to May, 2005.
V. As Resident Engineer for the Water capacity improvement at JKIA airport, a project of contract value US$2.5million, whose scope covers laying of water pipeline, construction of reinforced concrete reservoir tank and sinking of boreholes. Construction period March, 2003 to August, 2004.
MARCH 1999 TO JAN 2003
In employment with Kenya Airports Authority as Engineer for Planning, design and Construction Supervision for Civil Engineering projects.
Duties covered the following:
Review of airport Master plans, preparation of feasibility reports, capital projects investment plan to meet facilities demand, reviewing tenant improvement proposal and approvals development proposals in the vicinity of international airports.
1. Design and construction supervision for various airport improvement projects as follows
2. Reconstruction of the Runway 14-32 and aprons pavements covering a total area of 100,000 square metres and a contract value of us$3.3million.
3. Recarpeting of access roads at JKIA airport of contract value US$0.4milloin.
4. Repairs and improvement to the storm water drainage system at Moi International Airport.
JAN 1992 TO FEB 1999
In employment with Kenya Airports Authority as a Civil Engineer, duties mainly covered the design and construction of Civil Engineering projects some of the major covered as follows:
i. Reconstruction of Domestic Apron covering a total area of 65,000 square metres with contract value US$3million.
ii. Re-construction Runway 07-25 and Parallel taxiway at Wilson airport of contract value US$2.3million.
iii. Resurfacing of aircraft pavements at Kabaraka Airstrip contract value US$0.3million.
iv. Various small contracts for aircraft maintenance contracts at the major international and domestic airports for Kenya.

On study leave for Masters programme in Construction Engineering at Loughborough university UK.
AUG 1986 TO AUG 1990
Employed as an Assistant Civil Engineer Aerodromes Department where my duties covered design and construction supervision of various small civil engineering maintenance projects.
