Urvinder Madan, 51, graduated in Commerce and Law from Panjabi University, Patiala and did his Masters in Development and Project Planning from Bradford University, UK. He joined the Indian Administrative Service in 1983 in Maharashtra cadre.

Starting his career as Assistant Collector, Aurangabad he worked in districts as Controller of Slums in Mumbai, CEO of Zilla Parishad, Sangli and Collector of Nanded.

Madan worked with the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India as Deputy Secretary and Director for four years. He was also Chief Electoral Officer of Maharashtra for three and half years.

Madan has a rich experience of working in urban sector. He worked as Commissioner, Kalyan Municipal Corporation for three and half years; Project Director in Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) for three years; Vice President & CEO, Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) for one and half years, and his last assignment was with Mumbai Transformation Support Unit (MTSU) as Project Manager, for over three years. Presently, working as Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Maharashtra Airport Development Company Ltd. a Government of Maharashtra undertaking with Hon. C.M. as Chairman
